ValueCommerce Releases Web Service 2.0 — System expansion and extension of use to general affiliate partners —
ValueCommerce Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Stock Code: 2491 on TSE Mothers, President & CEO: Brian Nelson) is pleased to announce the latest version of its ValueCommerce Web Service, with the release of its significantly upgraded system- ValueCommerce Web Service 2.0. As a result, it is now possible to feed chosen keywords, a fee setting and other settings into a search API to conduct a real-time search of more than 7.8 million products from more than 15,000 stores (as of May 24, 2007) registered on the ValueCommerce products database, and to display product information including affiliate advertising links.
ValueCommerce has used this version upgrade and system expansion as an opportunity to expand the scope of sites covered by the database, which was previously limited to major affiliate partners, to include a wide range of general affiliate partners, and has begun accepting user registrations.
Since use of the upgraded ValueCommerce Web Service 2.0 will make it possible for Web Service affiliate partners to dynamically display product information including their own affiliate advertisement link, the most up-to-date information will always be available to site users. According to ValueCommerce’s research into site use, many of the sites have recorded click and contract rates which are several times higher than with ordinary affiliate advertisements.
ValueCommerce is promoting use of its ValueCommerce Web Service 2.0 through measures such as free seminars, the distribution of sample programs and information sharing via SNS (Social Network Services). It aims to increase the number of user-partners to 10,000 sites, the number of participating e-commerce sites to 100 sites, and the number of registered products to 10 million by the end of 2007. ValueCommerce is also promoting wider use of the ValueCommerce Web Service 2.0 in blog services, credit card member sites, point swap sites, SNS and other types of Internet services that incorporate affiliate advertising into their business model.
